About Totara Hill Montessori Preschool

Situated four kilometres out of Matakana Village in a quiet rural setting with beautiful landscaping. Totara Hill was founded by Teresa Durrant and Tia Wooller in 2005.

Tia and Teresa are responsible for the teaching and the administration. Their dream was to establish a small preschool that embraced their ideals of:

• Quality education for 3-6 year olds
• A small group size to facilitate the feeling of belonging, enabling quality relationships to form
• High parental commitment which they see as very important to the programme.  
•  

Age group: 3-6 years with priority given to children whose parents wish for them to remain until they are six and continue on to the Montessori Primary unit at Matakana Primary School.

Session times:

8.30am-1.30pm Monday and Friday

8.30am-2.30pm Tuesday to Thursday.

The minimum enrolment is three sessions, we ask four year olds to attend 4 sessions and the five year olds are required to do a full week.
